The complex, of ancient origins, developed over the centuries with successive extensions around the original small pre-existing building, presumably around the 16th century.
In 1794 it was further extended to its current size and dedicated to St Joseph.
The exterior has a gabled façade with a portal in terracotta, the bell gable is on the right wall.
The one-nave interior is richly decorated with stucco work on the high altar and the four side altars.
